Builders for residential properties need to provide Revenue Services at least 2 - 4 weeks notice when requesting a water meter installation for a residential property. Please have your building permit number(s) ready upon request. Our water meter contractor requires the property to have spacer bar and a conduit for wiring set up. Once your request has been submitted our water meter contractor will contact you to schedule an appointment and provide further instructions.
Builders for large bulk meters or non-residential properties need to contact Revenue Services at least 6 - 8 months before the planned installation to ensure the water meter is available. Builders will be required to run a conduit to the outside. You will need to provide us with the approved final Site Plan Agreement information and the water meter payment confirmation when submitting your request.
The personal information on this form is collected pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001, and By-law 94-11, and will be used by the City of Richmond Hill to determine eligibility for the installation of a residential water meter.
