Bulky Waste Collection Request Form – Apartments and Condominiums
This online booking form is for building management use only (i.e. property manager, superintendent, security, concierge etc.). If you are a resident and have bulky waste for disposal, please contact your property manager or superintendent.
Bulky waste items such as couches, tables, chairs, mattresses etc. are collected free of charge from apartments and condominiums. Free bulky waste collection occurs twice per month on Mondays, by appointment only. You can schedule collection appointments for your building by using this form.
Bulky waste items can also be dropped off at one of York Region’s waste depots.
Reminders:
- Collection is only available for apartments and condominiums that receive municipal waste collection
- Do not use this form for metal items and appliances. These items are collected for free by appointment only using the metal item and appliance collection form.
- Appointments must be booked online by 12:00 p.m. (noon) the Friday before a collection Monday
- Place bulky items at the collection area no later than 7 a.m. the day of collection and no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before collection
- Bulky waste items must not exceed 1.83 metres in length and 68 kilograms in weight
- If items are in good condition consider donating them to families in need or other charitable organizations
- Glass and mirrors must be securely wrapped in cardboard and marked as 'glass for disposal'
- Where possible, garbage items including glass should be put in the front-end garbage container for disposal
- Unacceptable material such as renovation/construction waste, hazardous waste and electronic waste will not be collected. It must be taken to a York Region waste depot
Acceptable bulky waste items include:
- Couches/sofas
- Recliners
- Dining chairs
- Upholstered chairs
- Mattresses
- Box springs
- TV stands (glass removed)
- Carpet/rugs (must be bundled and cannot exceed 1.83 metres in length)
- Other furniture items (wooden, plastic, upholstered)

Prohibited items found at the collection area will not be collected. Proper cleanup, storage and disposal of items not collected will remain your responsibility.
